January Challenge 2013: Day Twenty

Sludge under the cut because of size )

Again since they only chose the genus for Sludge, I got to choose the species. A. louisae is the largest of the Apatosaurs, which though big, still doesn't make him as large as he was in canon. And while Apatosaurus hasn't been found with dorsal spikes, it's cousin the Diplodocus has. (plus, yanno, Wheeljack had a hand in making them)

Why I don't say Brontosaurus, is that it's a dinosaur that doesn't exist. Rather it could, but it would require Frankensteining the head and a few other body parts from a Camarasaurus onto the body of an Apatosaurus. As what happen with the fossils when the animal was first discovered over a hundred years ago.

January Challenge 2013: Day Twenty One

Now canon only ever identified him to the Pteranodon genus, but thanks to his head crest, he’s identifiable as belonging to the longiceps sp. As each Pteranodon species has a different shape to their crest, and only the longiceps has that distinct elongated curve of bone.

(his color scheme looks off, may change it later)
