Just playing around with the TFA style for the Coneheads especially Ramjet. (I wanted to give them Aztec or Egyptian influences because those helms just scream headdress to me, but they weren't cooperating) Dirge wanted to be a femme and I have no idea why.

A little bit of fandom complaining ahead, you can skip if you like.
While some of new characters and the animation are neat it just doesn't hold my interest as much as G1 or Beast Wars. Sure they sound like robots, and do things that no organic could, but to me they don't FEEL like giant alien robots. (illogical I know) Things like Ratchet missing pieces where it's been shown that damage isn't a permanent thing with them really sticks out. And while the style is very easy to work with because it's so fluid, it also makes the transformers look like humans wearing leotards and vehicle bits. I think it could also be that in giving them human qualities to make them more relatable, it just went all the way and just made them feel like odd humans.
And while I've been able to hold my tongue with much of their character changes because they do that with every series... What's the point of turning a character into a standard seeker when their defining feature was not being one? *shrugs* Meh. It's late and I've been irritable all day. *goes off to do something distracting*

Jazz comes to mind the most when I think of them wearing leotards. I've been able to distract myself from most of the issues I have with the show because of the good character development, and then there's also fanfiction. Although I would really love it if people could get over their preoccupation with Prowl, Jazz and Lockdown. I know, I know to each their own. But still, fandoms been flooded with so much of the same pairings and the like, that I've actually started to resent the characters, and I don't like that. I know the two pieces missing from Ratchet, his chevron and the hole in his arm, are war wounds that he decided to keep. And even after getting the E.M.P back, it was more animation errors than anything else that kept the hole reappearing.
I was extremely unhappy with what they did with the Seekers in Animated. Then again, I'm still upset with what they did with the Constructicons, too. Maybe later on, Dirge and the others will get so bothered by being called the 'insert description here' Screamer clone that they do something about it and redesign themselves just enough to still be Seekers but stand out at the same time. *shrugs* One can only hope. At least they did a good job with Ramjet in the Movie comics.

It was Jazz that made me realize that little analogy, thankfully not all of them are like that. That's sort of the same reason that I'm a bit focused on the wildlife aspect, almost no one has done anything with it. But it's like any good story. Unless it's just based on a few characters, you need to focus on everyone a little bit without spending too much time on any particular one. Ah. Well, that makes a bit more sense than what I was trying to make of it before.
The chiiiinnnnssss... gah. And I with you completely with what they did to the Constructicons. As for a well designed movieverse Ramjet. That they did, I made a little fan gasp when I saw him. Conehead fangeek? Me? Noooooo. X3
