This is a bit of an inside joke and since I didn't enjoy the prospect of taking up
bunny space here, it is just too amusing not for me to share. Bunny #6 reminded me of the event and then bunny #10 takes it all the way. Most of the humor is in the similarities I was able to draw between the bunnies and my personal experience.
About a year ago a Rottweiler attacked my friends' dog while we were out walking her. I personally had never really met the dog before, and he always barks whenever we walk by her neighbors house to whom he belongs. As such I didn't know what it was he was doing until he actually bit Nyla round the neck (my friend's dog, who is a blue healer half-breed, and thus a small girl). As soon as that happened I reacted. Didn't pause, didn't really think beyond stopping him from hurting Nyla. Getting up close and personal, I out-snarled him into a retreat, tail firmly tucked between his legs. I didn't even touch him.
Later, when I was trying to remember what it was I said beyond 'back off' I asked my friend what it was I actually said told me it was mostly snarling and some shouts. I swear that I had used more vocabulary than that. And only looking back did I realize that I kept myself firmly between the dog and my friend who pulled her dog away after I rushed the rottweiler.
So to make a long story short. It had me seeing him as a dog running from a fight because he was barked at.
Edit: Okay, it's not really that funny. I was running on no sleep for over 24 hrs and obviously my mind wasn't all that clear at the time.
