And it's Conure Herder's birthday... )

And I'm done! *throws hands up in the air* While I kept missing the deadlines I think this year's monthly resolution turned out well. Got a lot of really detailed pieces done , which is big. Even if I struggled with art blocks from the very beginning and needed to beg for prompts, and losing access to my computer for a few days, I'm rather pleased with what I accomplished.

It occurred to me today that I'm past the halfway point in this. I have driven myself to distraction and frustration getting all of these done. And because I can't seem to keep the drawings simple, it's eaten so much of my free time I've had little time for everything else I usually do. I'm going to have to do something really basic just so I can catch up with people's LJ posts I haven't had the time to read. Of course, I thought it'd be a good idea to participate in that friending meme so now I've got a bunch of new folks I haven't even gone and browsed the things they've had to say, despite their commenting and awesome attention for this new years resolution of mine. Sorry people! D:

We're now femmes? )

There is owl courtship going on outside my window right now. And they're in the process of making future fluff babies.

Two piccies not related to the owl sex. )

But ideas are always welcome. All unfinished prompts will be completed, just give me some time.

Two hugs and some crack. )

Oh and I'm reading a 726 page guide to synonyms that's fifty years old for fun.

Alright you peeps. Here's what you can do.

Give me a character or critter, be it from a canon or fanon (this is me subtly asking you to poke some of my characters if you please, but feel free to ask for others) source, along with a small prompt and I'll sketch it. I'm also willing to listen to bits from peoples fanfiction or even a bunny farm hopper you wish to see, but I don't know how well that would work for a sketch challenge thingy. The whole thing is to help me not become hung up on my perfectionist tendencies as much, and to get over an annoying art block. You guys just get some (hopefully) nifty art as well. This is not limited to just transformers but if I don't know the fandom, sorry no luck.

Annnnd.... go!

EDIT: ATTENTION!! I'm putting this on a temporary hiatus for what will probably be a couple of days. Due to the fact that I've developed a fever and a nasty cough. (yay, sick again) Requests that are still up will be finished so no worries. And when I start this up again I'll probably just go with a new post seeing as this one has gotten quite full. :D

"You're a lovely little parasite. Yes you are." )

Somebody shoot me. I've got other people's fancharas hijacking my brain.

[livejournal.com profile] heslestor's questionable Autobot, Hotzone. A Toxicologist and Pathologist whose ethics don't quite match up to the Autobot ideal, and if you kill him it's very likely that all the chemicals he's carrying around would make the surrounding area for miles a dead zone. Recent conversation had him cooing over a parasite of his own creation, and this image promptly burned itself into my brain along with the name Talin for the parasite. Which, like other made up words that hit me, turned out to be not-so-made-up. In this case, there's two. *exasperated*

Before, I'd offered to draw Hotzone because I like him so much and actually had a different one in progress. But nooooo, the pathologist wanted his parasite-in-a-vial. *sulk* It's really not fair when I'm struggling to get my own characters down and visualized. But hey, I'm glad it's one I could finish, there's not been many of those lately. And I hope you like this Heslestor, he was fun to design.

And if anyone knows where I can find some good tips on doing metal that's colored, I'd be very grateful.

Mermafied is pretty much the only 'club' I belong to. It's an online only (we're from all over) so I don't know how that effects the definition.

Anyway, Mermafied is an art club dedicated to the practical mermaid. Meaning real animals, or adaptions you'd expect to see in a water animal are used and they don't have human skin tones anywhere. Terms such as mer, merman, mermaphrodite, merfolk, and transplant mers (for those disney mertypes you see everywhere) are used to discribe the various kinds there are.

Exchanges are a fun way for people to draw each others characters, while getting something in return. Who draws who's character is completely random and I got Chael's (an awesome artist you can see on dA, who is also founder of the club) dumbo octopus mermaid named Dee to draw with a halloween theme. That's a big FAIL on the halloween part, but I desparately wanted to get my part done and with the end of the month when it's really due. With roughly the last two weeks of the month looking like chaos I really didn't want to miss the deadline just because I was somewhere without computer access. Chael wanted glowy and I couldn't think of anything else, too busy worrying about losing time to trying to come up with something better.

Resizing and jpegging hurts pictures something awful. )

I hope Dee is well liked, they haven't seen the picture yet.
