Jul. 27th, 2009 04:11 amFor those not the least bit interested in OC's, I've been playing around with another art program I just found. SAI is both similar and different than OpenCanvas, it has a better blur tool for example while their variety of brushes is not as easy to figure out. The first two pictures are a bit inaccurate, I didn't bother looking for references at the time. (nitpicky artist is very nitpicky)

Lots of photos, slow connectivity beware
Jun. 30th, 2009 01:54 amPromised to get this up during the weekend, failed, beat myself up, then kicked my ass into gear.
On June fourth I purchased a camera. I've been looking at the various brands and models for a little while, until this point I'd been borrowing my parents from time to time but doing so was impractical for many reasons. So when a camera shop was having a sale, I finally got one. (And a free $90 printer too :D) For the rest of day and the one following I devoured the manual and played it safe, I did not want to screw up and damage it.

Apr. 14th, 2009 11:44 pmI stand corrected, they were barred owls. Such gorgeous birds, and possessing such gorgeous voices too.
There were smart people in line with me today! *bounces* Went into town with my mom to get photos and a little bit of shopping done, and there were actually two of them! The photo line was very slow and I got bored. We got into a discussion about elements and I started naming off the abbreviations for all the ones my mom could think of. The guy behind us then challenged me to do them alphabetically, and because I thought I could I tried my hand at it. Part way through I got stuck (my last chem class was six years ago), so he named a couple, THEN the guy behind him joins in and it turns out that his sister actually keeps the periodic table in her wallet because she's this accomplished chemist or something. And, and... it was simply awesome that there was even one person who knew what I was talking about much less TWO.
I am going to remember this for years.
