A painterly styled sunset dragon for a card of mine that I should have done months ago. I'm really bad at doing certain things that need to be done for myself. Like really, really bad. At least I've come to the point where I know just how bad, and know that the fact I need help with a lot of executive tasks isn't my fault.

Mostly, though I thought I already had, coming to terms that I'm disabled has been both freeing and terrifying.

Been really bad at keeping up with this thing, but I'm glad for this challenge bringing me back each year. Dunno how well I'm going to do since it's been really, really rough the last couple of months and it's not going to get better any time soon.

Day 1: Flight Rising dragon, Lelym

Alright, so I think I mentioned during my cat posts that I've been without reliable transportation for a while. Well I've got an update on that. Since this time last month my car’s been at the mechanic, refusing to start with any sort of predictability. Now I’ve got a great mechanic so this isn’t an issue with them, they’re actually cutting the cost some for me because this has been a such a mystery problem. It's been an issue that has plagued me the last few winters and just now has it been figured out.

Problem is, even with the discount, it’s still going to cost me $740. I wasn't planning on opening commissions for a while yet, but right now I need to. Please see below for the details of what I'm offering. Now, since I am strapped for cash, I am willing to be flexible with what is added to any one piece before adding to the price.

Commission info under here... )

Another game art day, this time for the online dragon site Flight Rising. Here's the deity Gladekeeper in all her bearded glory sitting in a teacup.

In other news, all the stress and required socializing of the stray showing up at our door triggered a migraine last night. Bleh.

Felt like shit again today, so as it always is for me when the head is empty and there's no drive and I still need a fill for the day... it's time to draw a dragon.

Thanks for the well wishes on yesterday's post, they helped. At least it was more of the physically feeling like shit this time than emotionally and mentally.

I must have started four different pictures and messed around with two unfinished images before being able to get anywhere at all in my progress for today. )

Bleh, I can't think, at all. Don't even know how I got this done tbh, something about the Salem Witch Trials? I don't know. Falling further behind in getting to your guy's replies too, I've been reading them and think you guys awesome for it, I just can't think of anything to say. Wanted to work on that larger photocat picture I mentioned a few days back, but scattered ideas of what I can do to expand their frame types have been getting in the way, doesn't help that I overdid it at a library book sale and found a ton of plant books on subjects I didn't have books for. ("Plant Pathology", and "Plants in the Laboratory" at the top of that list please and thank you)

Happy Chinese New Year )

Tried something different this time, though I'm not sure I succeeded, any and all ability to judge my own work has gradually but irrevocably left me this month. This last week that I still have to do is going to suck. Big time. *repeatedly bangs head on nearest hard surface*

Tried to incorporate both of water's colors, blue and black. And while its body hides its paw, I went with the three-fingered Chinese dragon.

Also, depressed again. Would very much like not to be but my head's not listening and nothing I do is helping, things that I usually find enjoyable are neutral at best. Again. This is getting really old. (though I think I need to stop reading the news, all the horrible laws that are being pushed and the awful people running for presidency can't be helping)

Because I can draw dragons whenever, including when I lose all my spoons to something stupid like my car battery dying, and because they turn out decently even when I'm drawing very half-heartedly.  )

A revisit to my anatomically workable traditional styled dragon. Instead of one big physiological mess of muscle and bone the forelegs and wings create when the dragon is given four legs and two wings in which the dragon shouldn't be able to fly at all, I found a work around.

The dragon has its' proper hind legs, and a proper set of wings that include a deep breastbone for the muscles needed for powered flight, and then a set of "forelegs" that are actually a pair of modified ribs that float over the wing muscles. They're not terribly functional, but they work well enough to support the dragon when its' on the ground and to slash out when attacking like this.

Included two versions because the stupid smoke covered its' false shoulders.

This is not the picture that has made me late, no, that honor is reserved for another image that if the muses are kind shall be posted later today. Right now this is just to make yesterday's not too late, as the one I'm working on is a monster of an image and still needs lots of work. So this dragon is simply expressing how much of a time waster the on I intended to post has become.

Burn. )

Loaded from another computer as mine decided that now would be a good time to break down even though it's virtually new. So have a dragon about to roast the guy in armor as a metaphor for how snarly I am right now.

And so it starts again... )

Well, I didn't sell anything during the art walk, but I did make a couple of what look like promising contacts. One of which is the printing store I went to, so this'll be good. And because of that, I now know that the Dennos' Museum(local, right next to Northern Michigan College) is having a small print gallery thing going. Small prints, no bigger than a 5x7, in recognition of the U.S. economy playing merry hell on everyone, especially artists. Michigan as a state is particularly guilty in terms of state rank.

As to not posting for a week, I've been sick. Again. Merg, it feels like I've been sick all through winter, and now spring has decided to compete. Slept for three days straight more or less, and I was too ill to enjoy it too. Friggin hell, can I please be healthy for more than two weeks? *heads off to bed after posting*

*still fiddling with the moosebot design* )

Also, I'm just going to get rid of my art and fanart tags. There's really no point when I post at least one picture every time, and they're cluttering up my tags area by being ridiculously large. Oh, and melting deer brains smell really weird.

Alright you peeps. Here's what you can do.

Give me a character or critter, be it from a canon or fanon (this is me subtly asking you to poke some of my characters if you please, but feel free to ask for others) source, along with a small prompt and I'll sketch it. I'm also willing to listen to bits from peoples fanfiction or even a bunny farm hopper you wish to see, but I don't know how well that would work for a sketch challenge thingy. The whole thing is to help me not become hung up on my perfectionist tendencies as much, and to get over an annoying art block. You guys just get some (hopefully) nifty art as well. This is not limited to just transformers but if I don't know the fandom, sorry no luck.

Annnnd.... go!

EDIT: ATTENTION!! I'm putting this on a temporary hiatus for what will probably be a couple of days. Due to the fact that I've developed a fever and a nasty cough. (yay, sick again) Requests that are still up will be finished so no worries. And when I start this up again I'll probably just go with a new post seeing as this one has gotten quite full. :D

Determined to get working on art and actually finishing stuff again. Dragons help. And saving multiple files of my progress was interesting.

My halfhearted attempt at a squishy dragon. It didn't really work. )
