January Challenge 2013: Day Seven

One week in! And look, yet another merperson of mine. Been revisiting some of my old art, and found this one that I'd done nothing more than a physical design for them. Not even a name was given, much less a personality or anything pertaining to a life.

 

I might name her Maggie.

 

But cone snails are simply amazing. They hunt fish, with harpoons made out of their teeth. Or if harpoons don't do it for them, there's cone snail species that basically breathe a paralyzing agent on fish to catch them. And many have a toxin so strong that it can kill a human multiple times over.
