One of the reasons I've not posted much work lately is that I'm getting ready for an event this friday called an Art Walk. Downtown Traverse City shops are opening all their doors and celebrating their artists, and the art gallery I mentioned a couple of posts ago (with whom I now have a soft contract with) is one of them. Besides that last showing, this is going to be the first time a lot of my stuff will be displayed for the public to see.

And holy hell am I hating this. Yes it's good, I'm getting publicity and possibly making some cash, but I'm used to people outside the internet hating my merfolk (art teachers and grandmothers alike). And my art during my school years was liable to vanadlism if I didn't keep it with me at all times, not even the art teachers' desks kept them safe. So...yeah, I'm nervous as a mouse in a catnip factory.

Yes, they really did.

They're huggable in my eyes, but I tend to have an odd sense of self-preservation when it comes to dangerous animals. Instead of fear, I usually feel awe. It helps that I don't fool myself into think that they're out to get me. Yes they can be dangerous, but more often than not they'd rather have nothing to do at all with the human race.

I need to draw more magi nation stuff.
