There was going to be something I was going to say. But damned if I can remember what it was.


The Ahuizotl has been described as a water-dog with squirrel and otter-like features. It's noted specifically in mythology for its' preference for eating the teeth, eyes, and nails of people and nothing else. And if the Ahuizotl hasn't had a successful hunt and is in need of prey, it will mimic a baby humans' cry to lure adults to the waters' edge. It's a creature I've fallen hard for.

Also? There's just over a week left for you guys to do THIS. I know for certain that one person was working on their list, but I've yet to get a single fic put forward. C'mon people! It's a free gift! No one's making me do this, and all you have to do is make a fanfic rec.

These critters are so neat, yer the third artist I watch to start working on them recently. I think I might have to try my hand at one, I think my muse could morph into one nicely.

Thank you! That someone else is doing these at basically the same time when normally I'm lucky to find one new pic, is all sorts of delicious irony.

He's pretty much my favorite of the Egyptian deities (http://www.egyptianmyths.net/section-deities.htm) (had to link, it's a good site), though Buto and Nekhebet are a close second.

You just have a knack for making morbid things really funny and/or cute. The eyes must be like M&Ms for them, and when they get together there's probably fights over who gets what color, just like with some people.

Thank you! X3 It's another guilty pleasure of mine, mostly because I have a fascination with the deadly & pretty trope. But more because I like twisting the scary/dangerous/evil=ugly trope whenever possible. They'd probably be more like grapes, with the way they'd pop and all. I wonder if they have preferences in the quality of eye as well... "Nearsighted eyes are half-off! Get them while you can!"
