I'm back. Thank you for the kind words of support you guys gave when I said I'd been hit by this bug.

Drew this last night when I was finally clear headed, which in my opinion is a thing to celebrate. I don't care how sick I get, as long as I can think, I'll be happy. The pig-eared, broccoli-headed guys are anthropomorphic representations of the H1N1 virus, and the whole thing is some sort of weird symbolism of my finally getting through being sick. Don't look to hard into it, I'm not sure what I was thinking. Inspiration for the viruses look come from this guy's glass microbes. Not to say I'm not fully recovered, but my head's clear and that's good enough for me.

Speed drawing, I allowed myself very little in the way of finesse.

When you can't think enough to focus on any one thing, playing with color is the way to go.

One of the things they tell you about character creation is "Can you tell who they are from just a silhouette?" I'm sure the same applies to creature creation as well.

When looking up reference pics for the last time I drew Soog, I discovered there was a nudibranch that ate Goose Barnacles. It begged to be drawn.

My pileated woodpecker OC, dancing.

Did a movieverse Kickback sometime back, here's another version.Damn muses.

My mosasaur OC Torpedo, walking on his hands cause he could.

And this Turbofox is one of many, many rough sketches I did when thoughts were in short supply.
Now I just need to get to working on all that I missed.

Long comment is long and rambling, like a conversation with Jack Sparrow.
on 2009-11-25 01:14 am (UTC)At one point, I told someone "The first thing to return after sickness is humor." Thank you for verifying this. And the other glove is probably in the same place the rest of the flesh you lost off that hand is.
Conehead art. Always a refreshing change of pace.
Ooh...the colors... (this is from the same person who gets distracted by damn near everything.)
That must be a shirt someday. I'd buy it, and everyone who stares will finally know the glory of the moosebots! *cackles madly*
Oh, if only Soog's sea half was not a stationary species... Swim away! Swim for your life!
...Unless you're into that sort of thing...*coughs* I have a sick mind.Dancing's always fun. I can't dance much myself, but it's still fun. [TraumaHawk would dance with you, were he...mobile (it's a long story), and not a spotlight stealer who cranks up his music to eleven and dances to that instead.]
NEAT. He's a very spindly grasshopper, isn't he? Now, the question is, is he bored, lost in thought, or posing XD
Oh, that's fun. Now he has to say hi to someone and carry on like nothing's happened *discreetly pushes bunny into next room*
RUN, FOXY, RUN! Blink and you miss it, yessiree. You can just feel the motion-induced wind rush by as the little fox tears right past you.
...I think I got everything
on 2009-11-26 05:15 am (UTC)I love me the coneheads, but finding enough reference material (or even other fanart) is nowhere as easy as it is for the popular trine.
Yes... the colors. This is the sort of thing that makes me dissatisfied with photobucket, they reduce the quality of the image and with some it's really apparent.
:3 I'd be happy with just the fandom looking at them a little more. As awesome as they are about the characters, I want more cybertron cause I love alien planets as much as I love aliens.
But that's the fun part, I think I'm the first person ever to create a stationary merperson/character. And I was wondering where the sick part of your mind was...
*snirk* No issues here. Dancing on my part is both rudimentary and done where no one else can see me make a fool of myself, but I can draw it!
All three?
If you think that, then you have the character spot on.
Why thank you.
Sure did! Awesome!
on 2009-11-26 09:10 am (UTC)It's a pain to find reference shots for loads of characters, to the consternation of too many. You are not alone.
Darn.
Oh, yes; alien life is so much fun to conceptualize. It's just so damn fun. Creating new worlds is one of my hobbies...and this guy's too: http://www.nemoramjet.com/snduterus.html
Better than me; I'm terrible at getting that down--must practice more...
*snerks*
Awesome. He sounds like lots of fun.
You're welcome.
