aw, i kind of want to scratch it between the ears.
*hugs* sorry to hear about your migraine. i was suffering from them all weekend and yesterday. it was amazing to be functional today. ...and then i didn't get to spend any of the day writing. *grumbles about errand running*
Migraines are horrid, especially when they really get going. I get them at least a couple of times a month and can completely empathize with having to catch up with things to do after they pass.
Ugh migraines. The bane of my existence, for real. I had a killer one this morning when I woke up, it started yesterday as a sinus headache of some kind and then mutated into a monster. I can't do anything when it's going full speed. Have you tried Excedrin Migraine for getting rid of them? It's not so good at night though since it has a lot of caffeine in it.
Migraines run in the family and Excedrin is the only thing that works, even a mid-strength one is enough to destroy any motivation to get things done. And I'm already an insomniac so I'm not too bothered by it keeping me up.
I love that we both have headache themed icons on our journals. That makes me laugh a little.
I hate migraines so much. I never got them until I went to college so it was pretty random. They've definitely been getting worse over time which is really annoying. I had one that lasted for 3 days and kept me from doing anything the whole time.
*grins* I use it for everything from migraines to WTF moments too brain farts where I should know better or can't remember what it is I'm trying to say. It's very handy. Though there is definitely something for an arrow through the head to make a point.
Have you tried detoxing? It's done wonders for my mom; hers used to be crippling and happened with such frequency that planning things was a challenge. Now they rarely last more than a day and she doesn't have to barricade herself away in complete darkness.
What is detoxing?? I've never heard about it before so I've never tried it. But anything has to be better than spending days on the couch wishing that my brain would just explode and get it over with.
Detoxing is the removal of toxins from the body in any number of ways. The one my mom uses (and swears by) is a foot spa device (http://www.lectrochi.com/). She's since become a distributor, and by law she can't say that it's anything other than a beauty device.
The reason I thought of it is because you said it changed when you went to college, and that told me it was something different in either the air, food, or water. *shrug* Or it could be stress related for all I know. *taking a wild guess*
Hmmmmm. I'm going to do some more looking into the detox idea because that sounds like a pretty cool deal. And if it helps with migraine control it will be even better, because I really don't like the migraine meds I've tried before. Excedrin is good, but I tried two other more high-power things and they were awful.
I'm pretty sure it's stress-related because they've kept occurring since I've been home, or in other places. College stress is just so lovely. It gave me a stress-induced eye twitch too.
I am doing better, thank you. I usually just sleep these off or wait, but if I wanted to keep up with my new year's res, I had to work with it when it hit. *snirk* "scratch behind it's ears" If you don't mind OC's I've one that's doing just that (http://ink-in-hand.livejournal.com/30016.html).
