ink_in_hand: (muse torture)

Another one sliding under the wire, I know, but just could not get my head screwed on straight today.

Was just going to do a typical dragon since I can pump those out like whoa, then had the fabulous idea of using a specific one from mythology, went to search my old list to complete, then I found this thing... and yeah. My muses love to torment me. Especially since it tacked on that horse at the last minute. As in, so last minute that I couldn't even finish coloring it, last minute. And haaa, just noticed I left one of my pallet splotches on there.

Whoops.

Will add details of the creature once I get this posted so it can be on time.

ETA: Okay, now that this is posted, I can talk about it some more. (I hate how long it takes for me to type anything up) It hails from Scotland, and lives far inland within streams and ditches. Horse riders must take care not to allow their mount's scent to clue the leech/worm to their presence, as it's primary method of attack is to latch onto a horse's legs then drag them under to eat.

I went with the leech interpretation of the myth, though I used a combination of Pacific Lamprey jaws with  those of leeches for its' mouth. A defining characteristic of the burach bhadi is nine eyes located on the top of it's head. Couldn't find any references for its' size, nor for any coloration it might have had, so got to have some fun with that. The colors are what you can actually find on leeches, admittedly on two different species, but you'd be surprised at how colorful they can be.
