January Challenge 2014: Day 17

Eventually Heslestor and I are going to co-run an online craft store by the name of Moody Crow. They're going to have things like homemade dog treats and handcrafted paper, and I'm going to have things like my bulbs and prints of my art. So, to spare my hand a little, I did up the icon we're going to be using.

And yes, that is the asexual flag in the back, as we both identify that way.

I'm willing to test if you are! (Though i warn that our cat is a picky eater. I may have to have a buddy help for more accurate results. ^_^)

Wonderful! And the more the merrier, I'd love to get as much feedback as possible on every detail. I'm very, very new to this and still figuring things out. Like what kind of packaging to use for the various treats.
Might take up the challenge of finding something your cat enjoys, just to see if I can. What are some of their favorite foods, if I may ask?

i'm happy to give gobs of feedback and to recruit others to do the same. i have lots of friends with pets and we all have opinions. ;)

Ting Li (Fuzz Butt if you're me, because he's a punk sometimes and i don't think my mother realizes how racist his name sounds, but i wasn't around to actually name him at the time) prefers egg, cheese and poultry flavors. he tolerates fish but hates shrimp and will not touch anything that is made from beef. he'll rarely eat liver. did i mention egg and cheese? he goes gaga for them.

our dog Jazz on the other hand? so much easier. is it meat? she likes it. is it fruit? she likes it. is it a tomato? she will steal it off your plate. is it a veggie? she'll like it unless it's lettuce. (that picture of the dog is REALLY old. she's a year and a half now, with much longer hair and she's taller and leaner. someday i'll manage to update my pics...)

animal feeding time at our house is interesting. (so's people food time, with the dog wanting EVERYTHING we have.)

Thanks, I need all the help I can get. Eventually there's going to be a whole line of treats, in all kinds of shapes and sizes and flavors, most grain-free while all should be gluten-free. These are just the ones I'm starting with. Possibly customizable dog jackets, but that project is waaaay so far down the line at the moment.
Yeah, we got a dog that's part garbage disposal unit. He's tried eating everything from rotting wood to a AA battery - he doesn't chew his food, he swallows it.
Ahhhh, that's all I can think of right now.

i'm so excited for these treats, you don't even know! i really hope the pets like them, because i would rather they have homemade snacks than the processed store bought junk.

Yeah, the reason I started making my own treats is because Fenris, my German Shepard, is allergic to beef, chicken, grains, brewer's yeast and gluten, you know, all the most common filler ingredients in pet foods. Then started doing extensive reading on feeding your pets right and I'd love to go fully home cooked food for him, but with two other dogs it's very pricey to make such a transition.
I know the little trainer treats are good, they've been human and dog tested and all approve. (Ink mentions they help settle their stomach)

Oh, knew there'd be more to say.
And of course I'll let you know when I have cat treats available. Most likely will be a little while yet, I wasn't planning on any this soon and with it being the end of the month may have to wait until next paycheck to start down that avenue.
And once summer rolls around any herbs used in the treats are going to be locally sourced right out of our garden.
Don't know if there'll be much in the way of attractive labels for the first few batches, finding customizable labels that look nice and hold all the information I want is far more difficult than one would think.
