Taking it easy one more day, the arm is pain free and there's only just the slightest twinge to my wrist that I hope means it'll be healed up tomorrow enough to get back into the swing of things. Slowly though, just to be on the safe side. So in the meantime, let me tell you how well the cat that showed up on our door is doing.

Jasper is recovering fantastically. His eye cleared up within days and is good as new. And as you can see with the photo, put on a lot of the weight that he needed. He looks almost like another cat and I know I wouldn't be able to wrap my finger around his waist now. In fact, he's doing so well, that we've been told that they're going to start looking for a forever home for him soon. The other cat in the photo is named Stitch, and they've become buddies while they both strengthen up.

It's kind of bittersweet, since both Heslestor and I fell in love with the little guy but there's no conceivable way we could keep him. He was such a sweetheart the whole time we had him, brief as it was. So much sadness to be had on letting him go. But on the other hand, he's being taken really good care of and the rescue does it's best to screen the adopters to make sure that the homes are best suited to the animals they help.

The Lucky Day Animal Rescue is on Facebook should you like to see more pictures of him and the other animals they've helped.

Been pushing it too much with commissions on top of my daily challenge and now both my wrist and arm hurt in a way that I don't want to push. I was hoping if I let it be through the day after working on a couple of commissions this morning it'll settle down, but no go. It's that tense low burn sort of way that's focused in the tendons and gets worse when I grip my stylus to draw or lift something that weighs more than.a glass of water.

Knew I was pushing it before when it started to protest the other day, but I thought if I took care of it I could continue at the pace I was setting for myself. I'm hoping a good night's sleep will at least let me finish the commission that's almost done sometime tomorrow. But if not, I'm really, really sorry. I don't want to ignore the warning signs and injure my drawing hand.

All my free time got sucked up the moment this little stray showed up literally on our doorstep this afternoon.

Mostly in making sure she's fed a little bit of food at timed intervals because shocking her system is the last this I want to do. And also trying to keep the dogs from killing her, especially the one that's a hound breed. She's currently sequestered in a room, but it's not going to work long term. (guh and gah) Currently doing my best to find a safe place/home for her, and things look promising, but I'm still stressing over it all. And I'm hitting the point where my ability to social is bottoming out. So wish me spoons.

I regret that this won't be The Year after all, kinda bummed about it actually since I was doing really well, but it's for the best damn reason ever. I do hope that I can at least get a little something done for tomorrow. If not, again a bummer, but this little kitty takes priority right now.

EDIT:
Kitty is actually a year old he, and his name is now Jasper. Heslestor and I found a cat Rescue group, well they found us, and he's now in their capable hands. And they were sweet enough to name him after Hes, well one of their other user names. He's seen a vet and has been given a relatively clean bill of health, outside of the dehydration and being emaciated, considering. The eye infection is simply conjunctivitis, and is easily treatable with some antibiotic ointment. He was already neutered and declawed in the front paws, and is the friendliest and most open cat I've ever met, so I'm sure that once they get him fixed up, they'll have no problem finding a permanent home for him.

Really wish I could have kept him but it was impossible. Not only is Heslestor allergic, but the three dogs needed to be kept away, otherwise we would have had a dead cat on our hands. Especially the beagle, he was a nightmare. Even ignoring those, we just don't have the funds to take care of another animal, and I've been without a vehicle since last month with a repair bill of who knows what proportion. Not to mention Heslestor's mom is Toxic, and dancing around her would be even worse with another addition.

Sorry I didn't update sooner but, I've talked to more people the last couple of days than I have the last couple of weeks and I actually forgot I had posted here too.
